- The Christian Dunkel GmbH was founded in 1991 by management buyout of the former WF (Factory for television electronics). The production started in 1992 with 43 employees.

- The company is located in the halls of the former AEG Röhrenfabrik Oberspree (RFO), in the Peter‑Behrens‑Bau. The historic building was constructed in 1915‑17 by AEG. It first served the production of cars, later television tubes were manufactured.
